Legal Defense Insurance
Purpose of coverage:
The insurers are obliged, within the limits of the law and the contract, to bear the expenses that the insured may incur as a consequence of their intervention in a judicial, administrative or arbitration proceeding.
In this way, they must provide any legal, judicial or extrajudicial assistance required.

To be taken into account
It is usual that in the conditions of the policy, we find economic limitations in the different services and benefits of this coverage, which should be known. In addition, in judicial litigation, the insurer may understand that it is not viable to appeal a judgment and let the insured take charge of the procedure. In this case, if this appeal results in a more favorable final judgment, the insurer may claim reimbursement of expenses from the insured, within the limits established in the insurance policy.
Likewise, the insurance contract includes the cases that are outside the scope of this guarantee, such as claims for losses occurring prior to the entry into force of the policy or those caused voluntarily by the insured.
We may also have problems to receive the compensation that the legal proceedings will cost if we do not have conveniently justified the expenses and lawyers' fees.
