Daily insurance

Daily Insurance is a temporary insurance with which you can insure your vehicle for a short period of time (from one day, week to months) and enjoy the same coverage as with an annual insurance.

The most sold and most used are the Liability Insurances (third party insurance) for vehicles but there are those to cover many other specific needs: Damage Insurance (Sensación Todo Riesgo), RC Varadero, Travel, etc. There are numerous daily insurances that try to complement the annual insurances where they do not reach.

Coverage

The coverages offered by Per Diem Insurance vary depending on the type of product that is contracted.

Coverage such as roadside assistance, tires and death insurance can be added to car, van, motorcycle and passenger car insurance.

To be taken into account

Some aspects to be taken into account in the insurance per days:

  • The available coverages of each insurance vary. It is important to read the insurance coverages and conditions carefully before taking out the policy.
  • The per diem insurance for a car does not have the same characteristics as that of a truck, van, etc.
  • Roadside assistance can be added. Providing coverage as long as the breakdown occurs more than 15km from the address reflected in the policy.

In which cases can a daily insurance be useful?
There are many cases in which you need a daily insurance to cover your back when taking your vehicle out on the street. Here are some of them:

  • Your car insurance has expired, but you have to pass the ITV. For this you will have to have a valid insurance, but not if it is not worthwhile to insure it on an annual basis, take out a daily insurance.
  • To take an uninsured car to the garage, especially if the vehicle has not been used for a long time.
  • Buying a car abroad. If you buy a car in another country, it is very common to buy cars in Germany, and you want to bring it to Spain it can be a good option.
  • When you use the car in an unusual way.
  • Removing a vehicle from a municipal impound. You cannot remove a car from a depot if it does not have insurance. And to be able to do it quickly you can use the insurance by days that is a cheaper option.
  • If you are going to take your car on a ship abroad, it is mandatory to have it insured, since, as we have said, even if it is not in circulation, it can cause problems.
  • In case of lending your vehicle, you can take out a daily insurance policy in the name of the person who is going to drive it, since, in case of a mishap, it will compute to the insurance holder and not to the driver to whom the car has been lent.
  • Let a prospective buyer test drive a vehicle. The reasons are the same as when lending the car to a relative or friend.
