COVID-19 | 46% of Spaniards believe their overall health is worse today than before the pandemic

Almost half of Spaniards (46%) believe that their health, in general, is worse today than before the pandemic, a percentage only surpassed by Italy, according to various international studies carried out in 14 countries (Nigeria, Morocco, Mexico, USA, China, Hong Kong, Japan, UK, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium and France). Psychological, muscular and neurological problems are the main ailments suffered by almost a third of Spaniards who, in addition, 7% say they have been ill with Covid.

The pandemic has taken its toll on the health of Spaniards, not only because of the SARS-CoV-2 virus but also because of the complications associated with confinement, the interruption of treatments and the emotional states that have undermined our general state.

Regarding the types of problems reported by Spaniards, psychological, muscular and neurological aspects are the most important, highlighting sleep problems, muscular pain, headaches and migraines.

In the group of pathologies, dental, dermatological and digestive issues are more common than cardiac, viral or gynecological ones. In addition, 7% of those surveyed in Spain say they have passed the Covid, figures in line with the international average (8%), in line with 6% in Italy and France.
