The Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi at the University of Trieste, the University of Udine, the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics and the MIB Trieste School of Management have signed a memorandum of understanding to create the Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The aim is to create an innovation center to generate research and new business opportunities based on data and artificial intelligence.
Specifically, the Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, which aims to become part of the ELLIS (European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems) network, intends to carry out top-level research and promote knowledge transfer in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Its objectives also include attracting young talent and fostering new collaborations through joint activities such as seminars and workshops, doctoral and master's degree programs, outreach activities, as well as training and retraining opportunities for employees of the industrial partners.
The link between excellence and digital transformation, knowledge sharing and collaboration between academics and industry leaders have great potential for innovation, both for the ability to generate value and drive development, and for the ability to anticipate and overcome contemporary challenges.
