The assets of individual plans grew 2.4% year-on-year in January

The correction experienced by the stock market indexes in the last days of January has caused a slight adjustment in the portfolios of the Individual Pension Plans, which put their assets at 81,724 (290 million euros less than in December). However, and in year-on-year terms, the assets of the Plans recorded a growth of 2.4% (almost 1,942 million euros more than in January of the previous year), according to Inverco data.

In the long term, the Pension Plans continue to record an average annual return (net of expenses) of 3.2% and, in the medium term (10 and 15 years), they show a return of 3.1% and 2% respectively, in addition to positive returns in all periods. Equities continue to offer very high returns, reaching up to 7% over 10 years.

The estimated volume in January would be contributions of 206 million euros and benefits of 262 million euros, bringing the net benefit volume for the month to 60 million euros.

This statistic includes a sample of 972 Pension Plans of the Individual System and 7.53 million participant accounts.
