The assets of individual plans grew by 6.4% in February despite not adding contributions

The stock market indexes in February, both nationally and internationally, have generated a notable revaluation of the portfolios of the Individual Pension Plans, which put their assets at 82,463 million euros (449 million euros more than at the end of 2020). In year-on-year terms, the assets of the Plans recorded a growth of 6.4% (4,924 million euros more than in the same month of the previous year).

In the long term, the Pension Plans continue to register an average annual return (net of expenses) of 3.1% and, in the medium term (10 and 15 years), they present a return of 3.0% and 1.9% respectively, in addition to presenting positive returns in all periods, especially at 1 year, where the average return net of expenses and commissions reaches 4.5% per year. Equities continue to offer very high returns, reaching 8.6% over 5 years and over 16% in one year.

In February, contributions amounted to EUR 189 million and benefits to EUR 256 million, bringing the net benefit volume for the month to EUR 67 million.
